Card payment fees for plumbers.
Each card payment carries Stripe’s processing fee, which depends on how the customer pays, plus the PlumbPaid platform fee of 0.5% of the payment. It covers taking card payments through PlumbPaid: Tap to Pay on your phone, payment links, invoices marked paid automatically, double-charge protection, receipts and refund tracking. Cash and check have no fee from either. A refund returns it.

Your Stripe agreement or Dashboard may show different rates if you have custom pricing, use a different account setup, or enable other Stripe services. Stripe can change its rates; use Stripe’s current pricing page for the latest figures.

The examples assume one successful $100 payment made with a domestic card and no international or currency-conversion charges.

Per successful domestic online card payment. Stripe’s standard Payment Links or Checkout pages have no extra product charge on standard Payments pricing.

Plumber types card details

If the plumber uses a standard Stripe-hosted Checkout page, the domestic online-card rate applies. If Stripe classifies the payment as manual entry through its Dashboard or Terminal mail/telephone order (MOTO), it adds 0.5%. PlumbPaid’s Type in the card details opens Stripe’s hosted payment page, so the online-card rate applies.

No electronic card processing
Cash or check
$0 from Stripe
PlumbPaid records the payment against the invoice. Stripe does not process a cash payment or a paper check that is merely recorded in the app.
Other bank or check-handling charges, if any, are separate.

When extra charges can apply

These depend on the card, payment outcome, or optional payout choice.
International cards
Additional 1.5% on Stripe’s published U.S. online or in-person card rates when the card is issued outside the United States.
Currency conversion
Additional 1% when Stripe must convert currency for an online card payment.
Refunds
For standard card pricing, Stripe lists no new fee to issue a refund. It does not return the original processing, Connect, or currency-conversion fees. Custom pricing can differ.
Card disputes
$15 for a dispute received, plus $15 if you respond manually. Stripe returns the manual-response fee if you win; the received-dispute fee remains. Rare card-network fees can also apply.
Bank payouts
Stripe’s standard payout schedule is free. Optional Instant Payouts for U.S. direct or Standard connected accounts are 1.5% of the payout, minimum 50¢. Connect arrangements can differ.
Optional Stripe products
If enabled, Stripe lists 0.4% per paid invoice for its own Invoicing Starter, 0.4% of the transaction, capped at $2 for post-payment invoices, and $10 per month for a custom payment-page domain. Stripe Tax and optional dispute tools have separate prices. PlumbPaid uses its own PDF invoice with a Stripe payment page; these options are not part of the described PlumbPaid payment flow.

Your Stripe account controls
Check your own Stripe fees before taking payment.
Payments go to the plumbing business’s connected Stripe account. The exact fees charged to that account depend on Stripe’s pricing agreement and how PlumbPaid connects to Stripe. The rates here do not replace your Stripe agreement.
PlumbPaid’s subscription is $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year for Solo Plumber, or $49.99 per month or $499.99 per year for Small Team. The PlumbPaid platform fee is 0.5% of each card payment, taken from the payment automatically. Stripe lists no setup, monthly, or closure fee for standard Payments pricing.
